Bush Defends Decision To Spend Rest Of Presidency Cryogenically FrozenAugust 7th, 2001
CRAWFORD, TX -- "I deserve some rest," said President Bush, currently on a lengthly 30 day vacation at the ranch in Texas where he has spent nearly a third of his presidency so far. "Freezing myself was really the next natural step."
"Come on, I really didn't expect this to be any point of controversy," said White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer. "There's nothing to worry about. The President has already spent 2 of his 6 months in office on vacation and spent most of his campaign in a similar condition. This is really nothing out of the ordinary." Political analysts are unsure whether it will be neccessary to thaw out Bush for his reelection compaign. "Keeping him in a deep, hypnosis-induced slumber seemed to work last time, there's no reason to try something different," said a senior CNN analyst. Fleischer insisted the freezing will not affect his ability to govern. "Aides will sit by his refridgerator and keep the President informed on a daily basis. We assure you the President will be told about all of the decisions that are being made in Washington." |
