Boy in Jackson Case Admits He Made Story up to Avoid Marriage

LOS ANGELES -- The thirteen year-old boy in the Michael Jackson child molestation case admitted today that he made the abduction story up because he had cold feet about marrying Jackson the following day.
"All I can say is how betrayed we feel," said a spokeman for the Jackson family. "We are glad that he is safe, but we wish that he could have found a more mature way to express his feeling about marrying Michael."
Police say that it is too early to talk about criminal charges for the boy. "A lot of law enforcement resources were used in this case," said a Los Angeles County Dictrict Attorney Daniel Bem. Bem said that if the plot was premediated the boy could face misdemeanor charges.
