President Drops Steel Tariffs

WASHINGTON, DC -- Saying they "smell kind of funny," President George W. Bush rescinded the tariffs his administration placed on imported steel 21 months ago.
"The weird thing about them is that they sort of wiggle around, and even, make little noises," Bush explained in a carefully worded written statement.
The tariffs had been levied to allow the domestic steel industry to restructure protected from more efficient foreign competition.
