Karzai Survives Attack on Life; Can He Survive Attack on Fashion?

KABUL -- Newly reappointed Afghan President Hamid Karzai narrowly survived an attack on his life Thursday, leaving critics to question whether he could possibly live through an attack on his fashion sense.
Local militant critics have routinely taken pot shots at his choice of garb, leaving a forboding fear of a style assassination or even a fashion revolution in the growing nation.
"Mr. Karzai was chosen by the western powers because his hat seemed ethnic, just not ethnic for any people in Afghanistan. Where the hell did he get that thing? Guatemala?" asked a critic in Kabul who asked not to be identified.
"And his 'robe-thing'. What is that?" he continued.
