NEW YORK CITY -- As strikes loom today a major baseball player's union negotiator suggested baseballs fans could eat cake. "This is not an endorsement, not a back-down, all we are saying is that maybe fans should just go eat some cake."
    "Let them eat it, I say," he continued.
    At a press conference players union representatives explained that cake is at least partially nutritious, tasty, and perfect for the institution's many fans. "We fully support the continuance of fans eating cake, now and in the future. Fans are a sort of central part of this game, and their eating cake is all a part of that."
    Outside fans bearing placards suggested creative ideas on what the players could do with their cake.
