How do you feel after seeing a violent action movie? Great, huh? But what happens when your real, actual life turns into a bad Jerry Bruckheimer movie?
We've chronicled some of the differences here, in hopes to better understand the differences between a Clear and Present Danger and a Clear and Present Danger starring Harrison Ford. First realize what has really happened FILM: Think it's too much, couldn't really happen LIFE: Think it's too much, can't really be happening Somebody falls out of a tall building FILM: Laughter LIFE: Abject horror, feel faint, nauseous, terrified See a grotesque scene of injured people FILM: Feel "grossed out," make uncomfortable faces LIFE: Feel utter horror, strong desire to help in some way, somehow See a devastating crash or explosion FILM: Wonder how a special-effects team managed to do that LIFE: Wonder how a just God could possibly allow that to happen National monument destroyed FILM: Awestruck, minor shock LIFE: Find yourself praying for them, their families, pray to God that this is all some kind of fucked up dream, profound sadness Leaders, heroes emerge FILM: Wonder how they're going to win LIFE: Hope to God they will win Dust settles FILM: Try to guess what movie cost to make, run out of popcorn LIFE: There are no words to describe own emotions, patriotism overshadowed by fear, sheer terror, find self praying in street with people you don't know Steamy sex scene FILM: Turned on, mildly embarassed LIFE: No sex scene, thought of sex never enters mind for perhaps first time in whole life Current US president says, "This is war" FILM: Feel confident, euphoric, know best scenes are yet to come LIFE: Feel dumbfounded, fearful, may see worse yet to come, hope we make it out of this alive Bad guys established MOVIE: Think, "That's a weird looking alien" LIFE: Feel embarassed to be a human being When the credits roll MOVIE: Thank fucking God LIFE: Thank fucking God |
