HOLLYWOOD -- The world and the movie industry were shocked today when studio estimates released showed that the new
Scooby Doo completely
failed to bomb. The flick stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Junior and has signaled the downfall of the society we had so come to cherish.
"There were many markers -- there always are," said Yale staff historian Mark Geffart. "With only a computer-animated Scooby the dog, a bunch of totally lame actors and an $80 million budget, our civilization's Golden Age has finally come to its fateful conclusion."
A sequel is planned for 2004.
