Pixar To Generate DisneyApril 27th, 2002
BURBANK, CA -- Investors were concerned that the Pixar/Disney relationship might end with Pixar's phenomenal success. Instead, the bond was reaffirmed Tuesday when Pixar agreed to frame, render and generate the entire Disney corporation.
In the past, Pixar created the films while Disney marketed and distributed them. Under the new agreement, Pixar will now completely fabricate the Disney facilities and staff using advanced mainframe computers and state-of-the-art animation techniques. "Thousands of computer-generated Disney lawyers would be able to attack a target en masse," said Disney CEO Michael Eisner. "It would have taken us 30 years to develop the cloning technology to do that, but with computer graphics it isn't even necessary." Pixar execs say the agreement will allow new creativity. "Imagine a board room full of Disney executives with extra eyes and limbs," said CEO Steve Jobs. "We could even make them inhuman monsters. Anything is possible with computers." |
