RICHMOND -- With the editor of Vanity Fair declaring irony and cynicism dead in the cultural shockwave that occured alongside the World Trade Center attacks, TV shows and film studios are scrambling to adapt to the profound ramifications of the horrifying events. Many comedy shows are finding it difficult to write for the new environment, issuing instead somber talk and shaken reflection.
Fortunately, comedy visionaries Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell have come to save the day. Falwell put forward
his version of what happened that fateful morning, and not an eye in the house is dry from weeping with laughter.
Falwell claims he has been exercising his vision since the beginning. "Yeah, most people don't realize it," he said in an interview with Dan Rather, "but the
700 club, my literally read Bible platform, has been a comedy show all along."
